How to become a patient<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t

If you send us a request by e-mail or web form<\/a>, our patient administration staff will contact you within two working days and inform you about the next steps. Our doctors will determine whether your cancer can be treated with ion beam therapy on the basis of your medical findings and documentation. We may contact you or your doctor at this stage with questions.<\/p>\n

If you are eligible for treatment at MedAustron, the next step is to discuss the cost of treatment (see also below). If you then agree to the treatment, we will start planning your therapy. Our Patient Service Coordinators will also assist you in planning your stay in Austria for the duration of your treatment. The treatments at MedAustron take place on an outpatient basis, so you will only be with us for the duration of your radiation treatment or your consultation with the doctor, or your examination. Our patient care team will support you in all matters relating to therapy – from travel, accommodation and leisure activities to individual needs.<\/p>\n

If you require other medical services during your ion beam therapy at MedAustron or you would like to take advantage of accompanying therapy measures (e.g. oncological rehabilitation), we can draw on a large network of renowned partner institutions.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

As soon as our doctors have determined your indication for particle therapy, we will make an individual treatment offer. The amount of the therapy costs depends on the therapy process.<\/p>\n

If you are covered by social security in another EU country, you can then apply to your health insurance fund for cost assumption\/reimbursement. Even in countries outside the EU, there are sometimes offers for the assumption or reimbursement of costs.<\/p>\n

As soon as the approval for the assumption of costs is granted or you yourself bear the treatment costs, our team can begin with your individual therapy planning.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
