Once you have been accepted as a patient for ion beam theray at MedAustron, you will be invited to your initial consultation. After this, your treatment has to be carefully planned before the actual irradiation can start. Currently, the waiting time between initially contacting us and acutally starting your treatment heavily depends on the processing time of your health insurance. On average, it takes about 4 weeks. Until all treatment rooms are ready for full operation in 2019, MedAustron only has limited capacities. Assignment of treatment units depends on the degree of medical urgency only.
