There are cooperation agreements with Austrian hospitals and medical universities, such as Salzburg and Vienna. Agreemnents with other institutions are under negotiation. Besides the scientific cooperation, the main focus lies on training of physicians and medical physicists.
Specialists in radiation, oncology and medical physicists are to be trained by the partners and then move into the Centre for Ion Beam Therapy and Research MedAustron in Wiener Neustadt. This training, which includes additional training on ion beam therapy, is funded by MedAustron.
