The Centre for Ion Beam Therapy and Research is established and operated by EBG MedAustron GmbH in 100% control of the province of Lower Austria. Thereby, the province takes the liability for € 220 million.

The city of Wiener Neustadt provided the site with a size of 3.2 hectares.
